Investment gurus and property experts will have us believe that investing in property is the be-all and end-all path to riches and solid retirement. As new evidence emerges to challenge this assumption, much of the wisdom of older generations is due for testing. As the adage goes, the proof is truly in the pudding. The challenge for Gen Z is to decide for themselves, whether the wisdom of the past (that is, home ownership) is an idea that will stand the test of time, or if there are better alternatives in this age of rapid change.
