The inclusion of SPACs in the Singapore market is seen by the investing community and corporates as a welcome move, as it will help spur the progress of IPOsinject excitement into the market. This move complements the progress of South-east Asia as a startup boom for investors, and will provide SPACs with an opportunity to show their worth in determining the next big businesses of tomorrow. This opportunity, however, is not a free pass, and SPACs should be held to the same scrutiny to mitigate financial risks to investors.
