Why words of affirmation are important at work?

Some employees value verbal affirmation, especially employees whose primary love language is "words of affirmation".  Employees like this will respond best to a simple "good work" or public recognition, perhaps during a meeting.

One of the suggestions is to create a "Ringing the bell" practice as an expressive way of communication to increase employees' motivation and build confidence among the team.  Say Congratulates to those who won the big deal for your company.

It is advisable to know your employee's characteristics and needs, to consider whether they are extroverts or introverts.  An introvert might prefer a heart-warming thank-you note from the employer than being praised explicitly in front of many people.
